According to the Presidential Resolution of September 12, 2024, the 630th anniversary of the great encyclopedic scientist and famous statesman Mirzo Ulugbek’s birth is widely celebrated in Uzbekistan.

Events dedicated to the study of the great ancestor's legacy are held in Uzbekistan and abroad, and places associated with his name are being improved.

According to the Resolution, an international conference on “Mirzo Ulugbek: A Great Encyclopedic Scientist and a Famous Statesman” will take place in Samarkand from October 10 to 11, 2024.

The conference, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and Samarkand region’s Hokimiyat, is planned to be held at the Sharaf Rashidov Samarkand State University.

“Currently, active preparations for the conference are underway”, says Hakim Khushvaktov, Vice-Rector of Samarkand State University for Research and Innovation. “It is expected that the event will be attended by the heads of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Samarkand region’s Hokimiyat, famous scientists of Uzbekistan, and foreign guests. Invitations were sent to several international organizations, universities of foreign countries, astronomers, and historians.
