The meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States, held on May 28 in Minsk, was attended by Uzbekistan delegation led by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko chaired the meeting.
The heads of the delegations exchanged views on the current issues of economic cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth.
11 documents were signed at the meeting. They provide for measures to counter the spread of infectious diseases, promote the sanitary protection of the territories of the CIS countries and provide work for the population of the Commonwealth, prevent the use of counterfeit trademarks and geographical indications, regulate cooperation in geodesy, cartography and remote sensing of the earth, adopt the concept of cooperation between state (executive) bodies for managing state material reserves in the CIS member states until 2030 and a plan of main measures for its implementation, a resolution on the main organization in operational and strategic training of officers of the Armed Forces.
A resolution on the appointment of the Deputy Chairmen of the Executive Committee – the Executive Secretary of the CIS was also adopted at the meeting. From the Uzbek side, Ilkhom Nematov was approved for this position. He will coordinate economic cooperation issues.
The next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government will be held in November in Bishkek.
