The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has been established based on the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports and the State Committee for Tourism Development.

The corresponding documents were signed on April 6 by the President of Uzbekistan.

According to the document, the ministry is a government body that implements a unified state policy in tourism, physical culture, sports and cultural heritage.

In connection with the changes in the executive administration of the Cabinet of Ministers, the post of Deputy Prime Minister – Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development was abolished and the post of Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Tourism and Sports was introduced.

The Inspectorate for Protection of Cultural Heritage was created in 10 state structures.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is the legal successor of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports and the State Committee for Tourism Development in terms of rights, obligations and agreements, including international agreements.
