18:33 / 2024-04-19

Uzbekistan hosted a conference on the role of international cooperation in improving and developing forensic medical examinations.

Addressing the forum, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Akbar Tashkulov, emphasized that cybercrime does not choose a time or place, and not every country’s citizen is entirely immune. He made several proposals to find a positive solution to this issue.

In particular, cooperation should be further expanded in working with digital evidence and identifying cybercrimes. Providing systematic training to experts and specialists working in this field in developed countries is necessary. It is also advisable to constantly equip Uzbekistan’s expert institutions with new technologies. For further development of the industry, it is essential to update databases of forensic experts and keep abreast of news in this area.

Within the framework of the conference, bilateral meetings were held between the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Tashkulov and the President of the International Association of Forensic Sciences (IAFS), Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine in Gabrovo (Bulgaria) Professor Yanko Kolev, Vice-President of the Asian Forensic Sciences Network (AFSN), Head of the Department of Chemistry of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia Ms. Halimah Abdul Rahim and the President of the Forensic Medicine Institute under the Ministry of Justice of Türkiye Hızır Aslıyüksek.

At the meetings, foreign partners highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in forensic examination in Uzbekistan and expressed their readiness to cooperate in further developing the field.

An agreement was reached to organize international internships for forensic experts of the Republican Center for Forensic Expertise and to conduct research jointly with foreign experts.

At the same time, issues of developing new methods, updating existing ones, and introducing modern technologies into the field were discussed.
