The Minister of Innovative Development Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov has met with the Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sorena Sattari.
Sorena Sattari’s visit to Uzbekistan is aimed at strengthening cooperation in science, innovation and technology. He got acquainted with the activities of the INNO technopark under the Ministry of Innovative Development.

Sorena Sattari focused on the issue of further enhancing cooperation in biotechnology between Iran and Uzbekistan.
“The achievements of the two countries in the field of biotechnology, common views and the desire for mutually beneficial cooperation are of particular importance. We are ready to scale up the production of innovative products as part of start-up projects, by financing start-up and scientific projects in the field of biotechnology, creating conditions for joint scientific work of our scientists, as well as commercializing the results of scientific work. I believe that investments in this area will serve to further develop innovative entrepreneurship in the interests of both countries”, the Vice-President of Iran said.

In turn, Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov said that following his trip to Iran in March this year, cooperation was established with more than 20 Iranian companies, research institutions and innovation infrastructure facilities. He noted that Sattari’s visit to Uzbekistan will provide an opportunity to further enhance this cooperation.
It should be noted that a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Innovative Development and the Office of the Vice-President for Science and Technology of Iran. During this visit, 25 meetings were held, including 7 with Iranian government agencies, 3 with scientific organizations and 15 with private companies. Agreements were reached on the study of best practices and technology transfer.

During the visit of the Vice-President of Iran Sorena Sattari to Uzbekistan, on July 20 this year, the Uzbekistan – Iran Scientific and Innovation Forum will be held jointly with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran and the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Within the framework of the forum, the exhibition of products of innovative companies and start-ups in Uzbekistan and Iran' will be organized at the Ministry of Innovative Development. Innovative developments and products of enterprises and organizations of the two countries will be presented here.
35 leading Iranian innovative companies operating in medicine, animal husbandry, food industry and other fields will take part with their innovative products and projects. Within the framework of the exhibition, B2B meetings will be organized to further strengthen cooperation between businessmen of Uzbekistan and Iran, and establish mutually beneficial relations in such areas as agriculture, animal husbandry, medicine, IT and food industry.
