Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov received the Ambassador of Egypt to Uzbekistan Amira Fahmy.
The Ambassador expressed her opinion on further enhancing and strengthening cooperation between the two countries in education, science and innovation, in particular between the universities of Uzbekistan and Egypt. The signing of intergovernmental agreements during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Egypt scheduled for March this year, which are aimed at developing higher education was discussed.

The parties discussed the issue of attracting qualified professors from the Faculty of Mass Communication of Cairo University to study at the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, as well as organizing training for Uzbekistan journalists in Egypt.

Ambassador Amira Fahmy made proposals for improving the qualifications of Arabic language teachers in Uzbekistan, their internship in Egypt or the visit of trainers from Egypt to Uzbekistan.

The parties also noted the need for fostering tolerance in religious universities, exchanging experience between the two countries on the formation of immunity to the influence of various extremist movements. A decision was made to create a special corner of Egypt in the library of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations. The Embassy of Egypt in Uzbekistan is ready to assist in replenishing the book fund.
