The Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov has met with the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia Khalid Al-Falih.

The Saudi side noted the openness and professionalism in doing business in Uzbekistan at the present stage, which became possible due to the leadership qualities of the President of the country and allowed large investors and energy companies to enter the promising Uzbekistan energy market.

The Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia also expressed confidence that the project for the construction of a thermal power plant in Syrdarya region being implemented by ACWA Power is only the beginning for large-scale investments by Saudi companies in other sectors of the country’s economy.

The Saudi side emphasized that it has high hopes for cooperation in hydrogen energy within the framework of a start-up project to create a research center for hydrogen energy in Uzbekistan with ACWA Power.

Following the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on building up cooperation in the energy sector.
