Military Cinema Days kick off in Tashkent

At the initiative of Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency, all TV channels of the country will show documentaries and feature films during the holidays, telling about the bravery and perseverance of Uzbekistan people who fought on the fronts of the Second World War.

The masterpieces of Uzbek cinema classics that were returned to Uzbekistan from the Cinema Foundation of Russia will be presented. The unique project was implemented with the assistance of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.

Digitized from reference copies of the outstanding works of the Uzbek film heritage “You are not an orphan”, “Surgeon”, “General Rakhimov”, “Apples of 1941” and other films will also be broadcast on the country's TV channels during the holidays. It is noteworthy that some of them will be shown in their original form for the first time in Uzbekistan.

This year, jointly with Samarkand region’s Hokimiyat, a documentary film “Matonat” by Shukhrat Makhmudov and a series of eight documentaries “Unforgettable heroes” by young filmmakers were shot by Ali Khamrayev. The next military-historical feature film is “Uzbek woman”.

The premiere of the documentary film “Matonat” and the historical drama “Meros" directed by Khilol Nasimov about the love of an Uzbek guy and a Kazakh girl and the events of the Second World War took place in the pre-holiday days. The premiere of the series of documentaries “Unforgettable heroes” is also planned. New films about the war heroes Zebo Ganiyeva, Qudrat Suyunov, Inoyat Navruzbayev, Mamadali Topvoldiyev and others will undoubtedly attract the audience’s attention.

The feature film “Ilkhak” in Russian will also be premiered.
