MIIT: 39 promising projects worth $1.9 billion have been developed

Yesterday, a meeting with foreign and national investors interested in implementing projects in Fergana region was held in the city of Kokand under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Khurram Teshabayev.

According to the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (MIIT), in anticipation of the meeting, the MIIT working group studied the possibilities of implementing new projects on 341 hectares of empty land plots in the territories of the region’s FEZ and Kokand. Based on an analysis of resources, geo-economic situation, demand in local and export markets, and other essential aspects, 39 promising projects worth $1.9 billion have been developed.

They covered infrastructure development, food production, household appliances, building materials, industrial electrical appliances, agricultural machinery, auto parts, and others.

During the dialogue, investors were presented with promising projects, and the initiators who expressed their intention to develop and expand their business were assisted in finding foreign investors for $750 million. 

At the same time, the regional leadership and MIIT expressed their readiness to provide comprehensive support to project initiators during investment projects’ construction and operational periods.
