Intersessional negotiations on the draft Free Trade Agreement between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea were held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade (MIFT) via videoconference.

According to MIFT, representatives of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea for FTA took part in the negotiations.

The parties considered the draft Agreement, discussed the prospects for simplifying tariff restrictions concerning certain goods.

During the talks, significant progress was noted in the process of agreeing on the draft document following the results of the first round of negotiations held in April this year, as well as the professional work of experts from the two countries.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on intensifying the negotiations to reach practical results in the near future. The schedule of the upcoming events within the framework of the negotiation process and work for October and November this year has been determined.
