Uzbekistan is a participant in the UNICEF Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys program.
Such a survey has been conducted in the world since 1995. Experts collect important statistical indicators on the health of mothers and children, women’s reproductive health, children’s rights, their level of education, and healthy physical development.
These areas are one of the most important in the policy of Uzbekistan. Relevant state programs have been adopted and are being implemented.
This has been discussed at the presentation of the “Primary results of Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys”, conducted in cooperation with the UNICEF Representative Office in Uzbekistan and the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva noted that the UNICEF program was developed to collect data on women and children who are part of the group of especially needy segments of the population.
The results of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys indicate a trajectory for a steady improvement in the condition of children and women in Uzbekistan, in particular, child mortality is decreasing, preschool education rates are sharply increasing, and services in the areas of children’s health and education are practically provided at places. In terms of health, learning, psycho-social status, normal development is observed in 98 percent of 2-4-year-old children. This is one of the highest rates in the region.
It was noted that the participation of non-governmental non-profit organizations, civil society institutions, active citizens and the media is of great importance in conducting such surveys. An agreement was reached on establishing a constructive dialogue and effective cooperation in this direction.
