Mian Abrar: “Voters freely exercise their right to vote”
08:35 / 2023-07-10

UzA Correspondent interviewed the head of Pakistan Today’s Islamabad Bureau Mian Abrar, who observed the elections in Uzbekistan.

– The electoral process in Uzbekistan was conducted based on the principles of openness and transparency. The polling stations carefully prepared for the elections. All voters came to vote in high spirits. I talked to some voters and asked their opinion. None of them had any claims or complaints. This means that citizens freely exercise their right to vote.

– Are there any similarities in conducting elections in Uzbekistan with the electoral processes in Pakistan?

– Of course, there is. Our citizens are also actively participating in the elections, and the process of conducting pre-election campaigning is very similar. In Pakistan, there are long queues for voting due to the large population.

There is a friendly atmosphere in Uzbekistan during the electoral process. And in Pakistan, the parties participating in the elections are aggressive toward each other on election day. Each party is trying to show itself, raise its flags high, and lure voters to its side.

On my behalf, I wish that this important political process for Uzbekistan will be completed successfully and that the people will elect a candidate who can lead the country to a new development path.
