Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fazilov has met with the Director of the UNHCR Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific Indrika Ratwatte.

The parties discussed issues of further developing mutually beneficial cooperation, including in preventing and reducing statelessness, the implementation of international standards in national legislation and others.

The main attention was paid to the issues of interaction in these areas with Central Asian countries and Afghanistan.

The meeting was also attended by the UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Helena Fraser, UNHCR Representative for Central Asia Hans Friedrich Schodder.
