Sochi hosts the World Youth Festival.

This major international event brings together young people working in business, international cooperation, culture, science, education, and sports, as well as youth leaders and specialists from children’s organizations from almost 200 countries.

The Rosatom Corporation has assembled a group of 15 young people who will join a scientific expedition to the North Pole as part of the World Youth Festival program.

More than two thousand applications for participation were received from different parts of the world. Candidates tested their knowledge in intellectual debates, offering creative and innovative solutions. The final qualifying round took place at the World Youth Festival. The participants presented their unique projects that can be used as part of a scientific youth expedition to the Arctic. Participants include representatives from Cameroon, Tunisia, Belarus, Russia and Uzbekistan. The courage and tenacity of our compatriot amazed all the organizers.

“I dreamed of seeing the Arctic with my own eyes, and my wish is coming true”, says Shakhzoda Yokubova, a fourth-year student at the Tashkent Branch of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. “I set myself the task of studying cosmic rays during the expedition. I want to continue research in this direction and participate in workshops on this theme together with members of the Young Scientists Club”.
