Memorandum of Cooperation is signed with Louvre Museum
On October 9, a Memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed between the Foundation for Development of Culture and Arts under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Louvre Museum, in Paris.
On October 9, a Memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed between the Foundation for Development of Culture and Arts under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Louvre Museum, in Paris.
At the event, Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation Gayane Umerova, Director of the Louvre Museum Jean-Luc Martinez noted that relations between the two countries are rising to a high level in cultural-humanitarian sphere.
This document provides for establishment of cooperation between the Foundation and the Louvre Museum in many directions. In particular, it reflects issues of supporting scientific-research cooperation in art and culture history, museum study, restoration and conservation, promotion of excavation results of archaeological expedition in Bukhara, held in cooperation with Louvre Museum and the Institute of Archeology named after Yahya Gulamov of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, collaboration for exchanging experts and experience.
In addition, the organization of “Civilizations and cultures on the Great Silk Road” exhibition in autumn 2021 in Louvre Museum, dedicated to Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage is also noted in the Memorandum.
This exhibition will contribute to further disclosure of historical, cultural-enlightenment role and importance of Uzbekistan in the Great Silk Road, covering rich history and contemporary life of Uzbekistan. The exhibition will demonstrate unique monuments of antiquity stored in national museums. These exhibits, which tell about the history of Uzbekistan, reflect its role as a country located at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road, contributing to development of ancient trade and cultural ties.
The signing of this Memorandum will contribute to expansion of cultural relations of the Foundation, strengthening its cooperation with international organizations and charitable foundations in culture and arts.
