Sweet and fragrant melons are grown in Syrdarya region.

They are famous not only in Uzbekistan, but also abroad. Melons were exported to nine European countries last year and 17 this year.

– Last year, we exported 7,275 tons of melons. But this year this figure exceeded 13,207 tons, – says Arslon Ergashev, chief specialist of the Department for Quarantine and Plant Protection of Syrdarya region.
