Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received Vice-Mayor of China’s Qingdao city Liu Jianjun.

The parties exchanged views on the development of relations between Uzbekistan and China in the context of interregional cooperation. An agreement was reached on establishing cooperation between the China – SCO Pilot Zone in Qingdao and the Uzbekistan – SCO Industrial Zone in Samarkand.

The prospects for further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields were considered, including the implementation of the agreements reached following the state visit of China’s President Xi Jinping to Uzbekistan in September 2022.

At the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov was given a certificate conferring the title of “Honorary Citizen of the City of Qingdao” for his contribution to the development of the China – SCO Pilot Zone while serving as the SCO Secretary-General in 2019-2021.
