On October 25, 2021, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov met with the President of the Institute for European Perspective and Security Emmanuel Dupuy, who arrived in Uzbekistan as an observer at the Presidential elections.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, Deputy Foreign Minister gave detailed information about the priorities of Uzbekistan's foreign policy, about the ongoing large-scale transformations in all spheres of society.

Emmanuel Dupuy noted the high organizational level of the Presidential elections held in Uzbekistan on October 24. A positive assessment was given to the favorable conditions created for the active participation of citizens in the electoral process.

Views were exchanged on the situation in Afghanistan and some other international issues.

Proposals for enhancing cooperation between the research circles of the two countries were considered.
