Meeting with the Minister of State for External Affairs of India

On March 28, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of State for External Affairs of the Republic of India, Mobashar Jawed Akbar, who took part in the international high-level conference on Afghanistan “Peace process, security cooperation and regional connectivity”.

On March 28, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of State for External Affairs of the Republic of India, Mobashar Jawed Akbar, who took part in the international high-level conference on Afghanistan “Peace process, security cooperation and regional connectivity”.

First of all, Mobashar Jawed Akbar on behalf of the Indian delegation congratulated the Government of Uzbekistan on the results of the Tashkent forum important for the Afghan peace process and the vast region, which was attended by high-level delegations of the permanent members of the UN Security Council, leading international and regional structures and neighboring Afghanistan countries.

Main attention at the meeting was paid to practical aspects of preparations for the official visit to India of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, scheduled for this autumn, and the agenda for the forthcoming high-level talks.

The sides also discussed other issues of Uzbekistan – India cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats.
