On March 28, a meeting of the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan Abdusalom Azizov with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ravkov was held in Tashkent.

Issues of the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Belarusian cooperation in the sphere of defense were discussed. Views were exchanged on strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in the military-technical field.

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus warmly congratulated the Uzbek people on Navruz holiday and noted the growing cooperation in the military sphere between the two states.

In a short period, much has been done on expanding the normative legal framework for military cooperation. A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Military Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, and currently the Military Cooperation Plan between the defense ministries of the two countries for 2018 is being implemented.

During the conversation, the Belarusian side invited the military of Uzbekistan army to participate in the annual competition for the right to assign a badge "Valor and skill", which is held among the special purpose units of the Republic of Belarus.

The sides signed an Agreement between the defense ministries of Uzbekistan and Belarus on cooperation in the military field.

On the same day, Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov received the Defense Minister of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ravkov.
