The Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Toivo Klaar, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

At the meeting, views were exchanged on the current situation in Afghanistan and the efforts of the international community, as well as Uzbekistan and the EU to expand cooperation in the Afghan direction.

The parties agreed to continue regular bilateral contacts to coordinate efforts in the direction of Afghanistan.

Mr. Toivo Klaar highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan, establish long-term peace and stability, and provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
