On October 23, 2021, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Farkhod Arziyev met with the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Khusrav Noziri, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The delegation is staying in Uzbekistan as part of international observers at the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the Head of the regional organization was informed about the preparation and holding of Presidential elections in Uzbekistan.

Secretary General Khusrav Noziri, thanking the Government of Uzbekistan for the invitation to an important political event of the country, expressed his wish for its successful holding. 

He expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for supporting the ECO activities, from which the Organization benefits in further strengthening cooperation in the region.

The parties also exchanged views on further expansion of interaction between Uzbekistan and the Economic Cooperation Organization in such important areas for Uzbekistan as trade, investment, transport communications, food security and renewable energy.
