On February 8, 2023, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The parties exchanged views on the schedule of upcoming joint events in various formats, including the holding of the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.

The main attention was paid to strengthening trade-economic and investment cooperation. In this context, the parties welcomed the successful launch of the Uzbekistan – Slovenia Business Forum in Tashkent and noted the need for further continuation of close contacts between business circles.

Proposals to deepen relations in tourism, pharmaceutical and chemical fields were discussed.

The need for intensifying the dialogue between the chambers of legislative authorities of the two countries was noted.

The parties’ interest in expanding the legal framework of relations between the two states to strengthen the fundamental foundations of interaction at a new level was emphasized.

Certain aspects of the international and regional agenda were also considered during the talks.
