On March 30, Chairman of Uztuqimachiliksanoat Association Ilkhom Haydarov and responsible persons of Uzbekistan Employers Confederation met with representatives of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Trade led by Nikolaos Zaimis, at KU-TTP Textile Techno Park.

Uzbekistan is actively working to establish a social dialogue in the textile industry, constructive industrial relations between suppliers through interaction with trade unions and brands, and raise the industry to the level of compliance with international labor standards.

Foreign partners have taken the initiative to improve work by ensuring equal wages and gender balance, as well as freedom of trade unions and associations.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue in addressing issues of creating favorable conditions for workers, a system for monitoring the cotton harvest in subsequent years, the work of NGOs, labor inspections, ensuring transparency of labor processes at textile enterprises and in cotton-textile clusters.
