On August 30, 2021, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy Agostino Pinna, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The parties exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and the efforts of the international community, as well as the two countries to enhance cooperation in the Afghan direction.

The Italian Ambassador emphasized the significant role of Uzbekistan in establishing a long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.

The Italian diplomat noted the importance of creating an inclusive government in Afghanistan with an emphasis on ensuring human rights, including women and ethnic minorities.
