On October 22, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the Chief Executive Officer of the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) Richard Fontaine and Senior Fellow and Director of the Indo-Pacific Security Program at CNAS Lisa Curtis, who arrived in Uzbekistan as observers at the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The Minister informed the American side about the main directions of the country’s foreign policy, the ongoing work in the preparation and conducting the Presidential elections, the latest changes in the electoral legislation of Uzbekistan.

The parties exchanged views on certain issues on the international and regional agenda, including the situation in Afghanistan.
