Tashkent hosted a meeting of the Executive Council of the Asian Weightlifting Federation.

The President of the International Weightlifting Federation, Mohammed Jalood, the Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Vice President of the Asian Weightlifting Federation, Shakhrullo Makhmudov, expressed their opinions on the importance of the continental championship on an international scale, in accumulating rating points for Paris 2024 Olympics.

Council members discussed the financial reports, the internal report for 2023, the budget for 2024, the strategic plan update, the results of the work carried out by the Asian Weightlifting Federation, and the national federations that are members of this organization. 

Preparations for the Asian Championships, which will be held in Tashkent, and the World Cup, which will be held in Thailand, were also discussed.

The Congress of the Asian Weightlifting Federation will be organized today.
