Meeting of heads of border agencies

Khiva hosted the eighth regional meeting of the heads of border agencies of the CIS member states.

Representatives of the border departments of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, employees of the Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops, and delegations of the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States and the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure attended the event.

At the meeting, the influence of modern geopolitical factors and threats in the Central Asian region on the security of the external borders of the CIS member states was considered, and the necessary counter measures were identified.

The heads of delegations stated that the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops of the CIS member states serves as an effective interstate platform for developing and implementing a common approach to current border security issues. The need for further development and strengthening of cooperation based on mutual understanding, trust, and good neighborliness was noted.
