On June 24, as part of Uzbekistan Energy Forum UEF 2022, the second Meeting of Energy Ministers of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization kicked off in Tashkent’s Palace of Forums.

The forum was attended by the heads of the energy industries of Uzbekistan, India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia and Tajikistan.

Deputy Minister of Energy Azim Akhmadkhojayev informed the participants about the ongoing work in Uzbekistan to develop renewable energy and transition to a green economy.

Following the ministerial meeting, a protocol was adopted with an approved action plan for the practical implementation of the Concept of cooperation between the SCO member states in the energy sector. A draft program of cooperation between the SCO member states in renewable energy sources was also approved.
