Delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Chairman of the Supreme Court Kazimjan Kamilov attended the XIV meeting of Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of the SCO member states, which was held on June 18, 2019 in Sochi.

Delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Chairman of the Supreme Court Kazimjan Kamilov attended the XIV meeting of Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of the SCO member states, which was held on June 18, 2019 in Sochi.

The event, chaired by the Russian Federation, was also attended by delegations of Supreme Courts of the Republic of India, Republic of Kazakhstan, People’s Republic of China, Kyrgyz Republic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Republic of Tajikistan.

Current issues aimed at further enhancing cooperation of Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of the SCO member states to ensure the rule of law, rights and legitimate interests of citizens, as well as exchange experience in this direction were discussed at the meeting. Issues of reducing time and number of pending cases at various levels of judicial system, pre-trial settlement mechanisms and use of conciliation for dispute resolution were discussed in detail.

The sides also discussed issues related to application of national and international legal acts by courts to protect child’s family rights, including protection of children’s property rights.

Participants also discussed problems and prospects of administrative proceedings development, measures on strengthening judiciary system.

The sides also agreed to exchange information in judicial-legal activities at joint conferences and visits on regular basis.

Following the meeting, a joint statement of the Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of the SCO member states was signed.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kazimjan Kamilov held a meeting with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Lebedev.
