The Public Foundation for Support and Development of National Mass Media and the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan organized a roundtable discussion on “Media freedom in the digital era”.

The participants analyzed the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in journalism and the risks that arise. It was noted that artificial intelligence and digitalization are actively entering the life of society. Transparency and accountability are important principles when using artificial intelligence in journalism, including fact-checking. And the effective use of artificial intelligence to ensure the credibility, accuracy, and independence of journalism requires a balance between automation and the role of the human.

Following the event, relevant proposals were put forward, and conclusions were drawn.
