The Agency of Information and Mass Communications held a briefing with the participation of the head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, Fakhriddin Khaitov.

Information was provided on the work carried out to achieve targets for 2023 within the framework of the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy.

By the Decree “On the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy” and the resolution of the Head of state “On measures for the high-quality and timely implementation of the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy in 2023” of September 11, 2023, several tasks were assigned to the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction. In particular, the Ministry acts as the primary executor, as well as a co-executor. Systemic cooperation has been established with ministries and agencies to develop 11 draft regulatory documents, the direct executor of which is the Ministry, and 14 practical action plans by the end of this year. Several positive results have been achieved. The Ministry participates in the development of 12 regulatory documents as the primary executor and the development of 4 regulatory documents – as a co-executor together with relevant authorities. Also, the Ministry will develop 16 draft regulatory documents and 21 practical activities.

A list of 1 million 200 thousand low-income families has been formed, included in the “Online Mahalla” electronic platform, and regulations have been approved to lift families out of poverty. The hokim’s assistants have developed individual programs to raise each family out of poverty. Measures are being taken to reduce poverty by 12 percent.

The Holidays with Pay Convention of the ILO is analyzed, and the implementation of its international standards and norms into national legislation is studied. As a result of the study, a draft law was developed to ratify the Convention.
