Measures to ensure employment in mahallas and orderly organization of labor migration discussed
21:33 / 2024-05-10

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting on the issues of ensuring employment in mahallas and the orderly organization of labor migration.

Ensuring employment and increasing population incomes is a priority direction of state policy. To this end, many socio-economic programs are being implemented, and new projects are being launched. Ample opportunities for entrepreneurship and self-employment have been created.

At the initiative of the Head of state, the Saykhunabad experience is being implemented in all regions.

Responsible persons reported on the progress of work by district and mahalla.

It was noted that heads of economic complex organizations are assigned to each mahalla. They work specifically with low-income citizens and contribute to the growth of family incomes. Cheap loans, subsidies, and benefits are used to provide this service. Together with specialists from the agricultural complex, profitable crops are grown on household plots of the population.

The President noted that this work is not being done everywhere at the required level. In the current challenging conditions, the primary source of providing people with work and a source of income is the total mobilization of internal capabilities.

One of the essential tasks is organizing and safely sending citizens abroad for work, ensuring the employment of migrants who return home. In this regard, the activities of the External Labor Migration Agency under the Ministry of Employment are being reformed. The principle “work abroad begins with the mahalla” is being implemented in all regions.

Citizens who do not have sufficient qualifications will be provided with additional training and will be purposefully trained in accordance with the requirements of foreign employers. On this basis, it is planned to send 150 thousand people to high-income countries.

Particular attention will be paid to citizens returning from labor migration. Based on Saykhunabad's experience, they will receive organizational and financial assistance to grow products on their plots and start a business.

The Head of state gave additional instructions on providing quality services to citizens and increasing employment.

The need to create a unified information platform on migration, integrate it with the “Mahalla of Seven” system and provide assistance to our compatriots who find themselves in difficult situations abroad was emphasized.
