A native of Samara Region of the Russian Federation, participant of the Second World War, Midjakhid Khodiyev will turn 93 years old this year. He was five when the family moved to Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya region. Midjakhid grew up in Uzbekistan. After school he was called up for military service. He studied at two-month courses on training of snipers.

He was five when the family moved to Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya region. Midjakhid grew up in Uzbekistan. After school he was called up for military service. He studied at two-month courses on training of snipers.

... The last months of the war. Almost 20 enemies were liquidated with fellow soldiers. A stray bullet of the latter hit the left leg of Midjakhid. He was in the hospital. Without one foot, with orders and medals on his chest, he returned to Kumkurgan.

In the same year, participant of the Second World War, a disabled person of the 1st group Midjakhid Khodiyev submitted documents to the pedagogical institute of the city of Dushanbe and became a student. He had a goal – to devote his life to teaching the younger generation, and in the post-war years he successfully graduated from the institute. With great hopes, he returned to Kumkurgan and for forty years taught geography in the district secondary school No.10. He got married, brought up two sons and two daughters. The last twenty-six years he has been living in Termez. He is the grandfather of 13 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

Attention and care shown in Uzbekistan for representatives of the older generation, especially the participants of the Second World War, give them strength and confidence. In the years of independence Midjakhid Khodiyev was awarded “Jasorat” medal.
