21:36 / 2022-06-25

The Malaysian National News Agency BERNAMA published an article “Uzbekistan to hold a referendum to adopt new Constitution”.

BERNAMA writes that at the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan highly appreciated the activity of compatriots, and their sense of belonging to the future of the country, and expressed his vision of constitutional reforms.

The publication notes that under the current legislation, the Parliament itself has the right to amend the Constitution. It is emphasized that, according to Article 127 of the Basic Law, amendments to the Constitution are introduced by a law adopted by a majority of at least two-thirds of the total number of deputies of the Legislative Chamber and members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, respectively, or by referendum.
