Luxembourg hosted the 17th meeting of the European Union – Uzbekistan Cooperation Council.

Uzbekistan delegation was led by Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, and the EU delegation was led by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Tobias Billström, who chaired the meeting on behalf of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

The parties exchanged views on general and political issues, including domestic and constitutional reforms, justice, human rights and the rule of law. Trade, economic and investment issues were also discussed, including aspects related to the status of Uzbekistan within the GSP+, accession to the WTO, connectivity and energy.
