The Press Service of the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road” reports that film director Luc Besson will not only become a guest of the festival, but will also take an active part in its work, hold a creative meeting and a master class.

The legendary director will take on the function of creative director in the project of creating the Uzbek-Tajik film “Navoi and Jami”. The project will be implemented by Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency and the Tajikfilm State Institution.

The “Navoi and Jami” is a story about the friendship between an Uzbek and Tajik poet, whose influence on politics helped bring peace to Timurid Khorasan and develop education. The film will be directed by Yusuf Razikov.
