A press conference on preparations for the early voting process was held in the Press Center of the 4th Jizzakh District Election Commission.

The event was attended by the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary of the 4th Jizzakh District Election Commission, central and local media employees, and long-term international observers of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). The work of the conference under the leadership of the Chairman of the District Election Commission Shavkat Sharipov was observed by OSCE long-term election observers Erlan Dzhumashev and Joan Adele Brown.

The Chairman of the 4th Jizzakh District Election Commission informed the event participants in detail about the preparatory work at the polling stations.

“The Central Election Commission has decided that for citizens who cannot stay at their residence on election day, early voting will be organized from June 28 to July 5, 2023. Polling stations will be open from 9:00 to 18:00, and on weekends and holidays – from 11:00 to 17:00”, the Chairman of the Commission Mr. Sharipov said.

It was also noted that by June 22 this year, the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission delivered ballots and the necessary equipment to the commissions that conduct presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the 4th Jizzakh electoral district, in the amount of five percent of the total number of voters in the district.
