Legal basis for the protection of human rights and freedoms
19:08 / 2023-04-26

An important political process – a referendum on constitutional reforms will take place in a few days.

The holding of this major political event at a high level depends on the activity of compatriots, a deep understanding of civic duty, and the manifestation of political maturity.

To ensure the demonstration of the political will of every citizen through personal participation in the referendum process and increase legal knowledge among the population, the justice authorities have established an effective system of explaining the essence and significance of constitutional reforms.

This was discussed during a roundtable discussion at the Ministry of Justice on “New Uzbekistan – a democratic and legal state: legal foundations for the protection of human rights and freedoms, prospects for further improvement of legislation”.

At the event, the participants exchanged views on the protection of human rights and freedoms approved by the renewed Constitution, prospects for further improvement of legislation in this direction, and the role and importance of courts and law enforcement agencies in ensuring the protection of human rights and freedoms.

It was noted that the changes imposed a great responsibility on lawyers. This responsibility is an important process providing for ensuring compliance of the current legislation with the new Constitution. The updates will primarily serve the free life and development of each person.
