On May 2, 2024, the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art will host a lecture by the famous art historian of Uzbekistan Kamola Akilova.
“Modern Uzbek miniature art: cultural memory or innovation?” – a lecture on this theme was organized by the museum together with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan Arts Academy and Fine Arts Gallery of the National Bank of Uzbekistan.
Kamola Akilova – Professor, Academician of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Sciences in Art History, Honored Artist – has been researching the history and theory of fine and decorative arts of Uzbekistan from antiquity to the present day for about 30 years, studying the artistic culture of countries near and far abroad. She has written more than 130 scientific articles. Kamola Akilova is the curator of several international and republican exhibition projects and the organizer and participant of international and republican scientific-theoretical conferences on art.
