As part of the visit of the government delegation of Uzbekistan to Egypt, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held talks in Cairo with the heads of large companies operating in the electrical engineering, textile, leather and footwear, pharmaceutical products and building materials. The main topic of the agenda is the implementation of joint projects in the main sectors of the country’s economy and the attraction of investments to Uzbekistan.

The issues of cooperation in the energy and electrical industries were discussed with the President of Elsewedy Electric, Ahmed Sadek.

During the talks, the proposal to create a working group was supported, the main activity of which will be the development of joint projects for the construction of wind and solar power plants, the establishment of the production of transformers, cables and accessories.

At a meeting with the leadership of the Fresh company, whose export geography covers 52 countries of the world, the parties discussed implementing projects in electrical engineering. An agreement was reached on the joint organization of production of electrical products, copper and components in Tashkent region.

At a meeting with the Managing Director of Orascom Construction, Ihab Mehawed, the prospects for joint projects in the development of energy, road infrastructure, and the production of building materials were considered. A joint working group will be formed to study the territories in detail.

Talks were also held with the leadership of Al Rowad, ARC Shoes and Pharco Pharmaceutical. The parties studied the organizational issues related to launching the production of high-quality leather, textile and pharmaceutical products.
