On April 3, on the sidelines of the Samarkand Summit, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan expressed particular satisfaction with the productive trilateral meeting of the heads of state held on March 31 in the city of Khujand, during which the historic Treaty on the Junction Point of State Borders was signed.

The practical implementation of high-level agreements, particularly measures to accelerate the realization of key cooperation projects in industry, transportation, energy, and infrastructure, was discussed.

The heads of state emphasized the importance of maintaining active interregional contacts and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.

An exchange of views also took place regarding the schedule of upcoming events and other pressing issues of regional cooperation.
