Negotiations aimed at developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia in the field of social protection were held.
Jamshid Abruyev, Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection, met with Ingus Alliks, State Secretary of the Ministry of Welfare of Latvia.

The parties discussed Latvia’s best practices in the social security system and priorities for modernizing social protection in Uzbekistan, in particular, the introduction of social insurance, the implementation of targeted social assistance, and the evaluation of its effectiveness. Practical mechanisms for identifying people in need were also considered.

The guests expressed their willingness to share experiences in the areas of benefit management, social services development, digital solutions implementation, and specialist training.
Following the meeting, the responsible officials of the two countries identified specific areas of cooperation. An agreement was reached to continue regular professional exchange between specialists to improve social protection systems in both countries.
