Tashkent hosted an international event “Transparent reporting on the implementation of labor legislation in Uzbekistan”, organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by the Director of the ILO Moscow Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Olga Kulaeva, World Bank Country Program Coordinator for Central Asia Sascha Djumena, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, the State Labour Inspectorate and others.
The presentation of the first issue of the annual report “Strengthening the protection of labor rights in Uzbekistan” for 2020 took place. As the Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan Nozim Khusanov noted, the report is a testament to the Uzbek Government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in key regulatory reforms.
The main attention was paid to the achievements of the State Labour Inspectorate, the body responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with labor legislation.
Representatives of the ministry noted that such a report is planned to be issued annually.
