Hokim of Tashkent region Zoir Mirzayev and the Rector of Oriental University Murodjon Akhmedov met with the Chairman of the Kuwait Investment Company Dr. Yousef Mohammad Al Ali.

The head of the Kuwaiti company was in Tashkent as part of his participation in the Third International Investment Forum.

At the meeting, the Kuwaiti side was informed about the modern development of Uzbekistan, the ongoing liberalization of the economy and foreign trade, and the created investment and business climate.

The Tashkent region’s administration presented the region's potential in heavy and light industry, construction, agriculture, and mechanical engineering.

Dr. Yousef Mohammad Al Ali showed great interest in the development of the construction industry and expressed his readiness to cooperate and implement joint investment projects.

The parties agreed to create a working group to develop areas for further cooperation. The Kuwaiti side also invited Uzbekistan businesspeople led by the Hokim of Tashkent region to visit Kuwait.

During the talks with Oriental University’s leadership, views were exchanged on educational development, areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, and promising investment projects. Preliminary agreements have been reached in several specific areas.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue negotiations within the framework of the Uzbekistan – Kuwait Business Forum, which will be held in Kuwait City on May 13-14.
