09:00 / 2023-12-13

South Korea considers Central Asia an essential partner in implementing its new foreign policy strategy. This assessment was shared by the special rapporteur of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Korea, Eum Narin, speaking at the expert forum “Strategic dialogue between Central Asia and the Republic of Korea: Prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation” in Tashkent.

“The South Korean government intends to closely cooperate with the region in the process of implementing its State Security Strategy, updated in 2023”, the Korean expert emphasized. “This document formulates the main tasks and goals of Seoul’s foreign policy and identifies the main threats to the country’s interests”.

As previously reported, the expert forum organized by the Institute of Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in partnership with the Center for International Area Studies at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies with the assistance of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was attended by leading experts, heads of think tanks, representatives of research and educational institutions from Central Asia and the Republic of Korea.
