Korea – Uzbekistan business center opens its doors in the Republic of Korea
The opening ceremony of the first Korea – Uzbekistan business center took place in the city of Inchon, Republic of Korea. Within the framework of the event a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Korea Importers Association (KOIMA).
On November 9, 2018, the opening ceremony of the first Korea – Uzbekistan business center took place in the city of Inchon, Republic of Korea. Within the framework of the event a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Korea Importers Association (KOIMA). This document provides for implementation of a number of measures for increasing the supply of Uzbekistan products to the Korean market, jointly studying the expansion of the range of goods exported from Uzbekistan, organization of KOIMA trade missions to Uzbekistan.
As reported by the Press Service of the Ministry for Foreign Trade, the business center provides for the operation of a permanently operating show room with a wide assortment of products from Uzbekistan manufacturers such as textile, silk, chemical, wine and vodka, fruits and vegetables, as well as ceramics and wood products, handmade jewelry work.
It is expected that the opening of Korea – Uzbekistan business center will contribute to a significant expansion of exports of products from Uzbekistan to South Korea, increasing in South Korean direct investment and promotion of tourism potential of the country.
As the Chairman of Korea Importers Association Myoung Jin Shin noted in his speech, this event reflects a mutual interest in expanding trade-economic cooperation between the two states. He also noted that Uzbekistan – Korea relations, based on the principle of mutual respect and friendship, are successfully developing at the level of strategic partnership.
