14:12 / 2022-03-25

“Kokildor Ota” prayer house is one of the architectural monuments of Termez district. The people also call this historical object “Palace of Aloulmulk Khudovandzoda” (Palace of the Ruler of Termez), “Azizon”, “Azlareshon”, “Kokildor”.

Usually, in mosques, madrasahs, and public places, large rooms were reserved for prayer houses. In written sources, information has been preserved that during the reign of Amir Temur, a prayer house was built near the tomb of Sultan Saodat. According to researchers, the Kokildor Ota prayer house was erected during the reign of Abdullakhan in the 16th century by one of the representatives of the Sheibanid dynasty.

The prayer house was built in the form of a regular quadrangle and has five rooms. A high carved door leads to the central room. The dome of the central room is built on an octagonal foundation, two adjacent rooms are similar to each other, have the same size and have two entrance doors. The pillars inside the rooms are decorated with national carved ornaments. Several tombs have been preserved in the middle of the central room.

On the occasion of the 2500th anniversary of the city of Termez, landscaping activities were carried out here. All the necessary conditions have been created in the prayer house.
