19:27 / 2024-03-20

Reconstruction of the Kokand International Airport has been completed in Fergana region. On March 20, the air harbor received the first technical flight – the crew of the A-320 NEO of Uzbekistan Airways.

According to Uzbekistan Airports, a runway with an extension of up to 2000 meters and an apron with two parking lots for aircraft of the A-320 and ATR-72-600 types have been reconstructed at the regional airport. A new passenger terminal with an area of 900 square meters, designed for 100 people, has also been built at the airport.

The technical flight on the Tashkent – Kokand route, performed by experienced Uzbekistan Airways pilots, showed the airfield’s full readiness for receiving and releasing aircraft and the terminal for receiving and servicing passengers. The flights are scheduled to begin on April 1, 2024.
