Kokand hosts an International Conference on “The role of Kokand Khanate in the development of statehood and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples”.

The event is organized jointly with the Organization of Turkic States, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Hokimiyat of Fergana region. It is attended by professors, teachers, specialists from all regions of the country, historians from foreign countries, in particular the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States.

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov addressed the event.

During the conference, which will last until June 10, sessions will be held on the history, statehood and geopolitical significance of the Kokand Khanate, as well as a special session “Fergana Valley – the Heart of the Turkic World: Past, Present and Future”.
